Well hello again

I've been mainly on Google Plus until Google pulled the plug. Now I'm on Pluspora , which has the drawback of no emojis or any way to post an image in the comments. So I figure I could use this post to hotlink over there.

It's mid-May and I need to upload another image for the purpose of using it on Diaspora.org because they still  haven't worked out how to directly upload images in comments. Meh.

Need to post another image to link to because Diaspora.org doesn't allow image uploads in comments. Meh. I'm asking somebody to ID this antique iris.

The fediverse has fucked up again so I'm gonna need to upload more images here for the purpose of hotlinking over there. Even Friendica has fucked up and this is once again last resort.

This next image is via Wikipedia on the topic of "The Gondoliers" by Gilbert & Sullivan, evoked by Elon Musk taking over Twitter and declaring that The Blue Checkmark can be had for $8 per month. Immediately after that, trolls registered as famous people and corporations, bought a Blue Checkmark, and misrepresented the people/companies they claimed to be.

There was a mass exodus of millions of Twitter account holders to register on the Mastadon system of the Fediverse, and a lot of advertisers on Twitter also quit. The latest development as of this posting is that Musk conducted a "poll" about restoring everybody who got their accounts suspended and the verdict was yes...and I'm guessing he's hard pressed to boost his active account numbers. People continue to leave Twitter, so I doubt this move will even put a dent in offsetting the exodus.
