Lucifer...?

is this just one of the many Gods/Angels that has been labelled a devil by Christianity simply for representing one of the sins that the bible taught are punishable by hell?

God of the air, the morning light, an angel to begin with, yet after Christianity came onto the scene he was suddenly in league with Satan - another incarnation of mans' sinful' ways...

okay, you could well be thinking, yeah, but I don't believe in that stuff, so what!?!

It represents the true validity and hypocrisy of the book...

The bible is followed if somewhat blindly by Christians, and it teaches every normal instinct related to man is a sin, and that anything representing those sins, or sinners themselves, were either a devil or would go to hell.

if anybody has a good insight of the Lucifer myth, could they please share...

because i'm almost all but sure this deity has just been made a scapegoat to make Christian children say their prayers before bedtime...

Lucifer is another name for a match; it is a term which means "light". Early in the development of Christianity, there was in fact a Christian sect called Luciferians whose main thrust was enlightenment. By the time Constantine took Christianity by the reins and molded it into an acceptable state religion, that sect was declared heretic, as were Nestorians, Arians, and a lot of others.

Rome's co-opting of Christianity was in keeping with the Roman Empire's long-established practice of co-opting the religions of the peoples it conquered, rationale being that the conquered should religiously believe that the emperor had a divine right to rule.

Christianity, alongside Jewish Zealotism, was viewed by Rome as insurgent (repeat offender) rebellions and Rome considered it extremely important to co-opt it into the state religion concept.
